If you have spent years in kitchens and fancy a change of pace, this is a way to stay close to the trade without the section, the heat or the hours.
Off To Work is hiring a Chef Recruiter on a casual basis for our Birmingham office. Immediate start.
What's on offer
- £15.00 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay
- 2 to 4 days a week, typically 10:00am to 6:00pm, with flexibility
- Office based in Birmingham, no travel to venues
- Casual and ongoing, busiest between now and the end of November
- Full support to learn the recruitment side from scratch
The role
- You will run our chef assessment sessions. Most are held online over Teams, with some in person at the Birmingham office.
- These are group sessions. You talk candidates through who we are, what the work looks like, and ask a set of questions to gauge their experience.
- You will also carry out telephone interviews with chefs applying to join us, and check passports and right to work documents against current legislation. We will train you on that.
- Alongside this you support the day to day running of the recruitment department. Filing, records, keeping candidates moving through the process.
- The chef knowledge is the point. You will be asking a chef de partie about their section and knowing straight away whether the answer stacks up.
- Chef experience is essential. Chef de partie or above is ideal, though we are open to any level as long as you know kitchens properly.
- You need to be comfortable in front of a group. These sessions are live, the room is full of chefs, and you are the one leading it.
- Organised and accurate matters here too, because the document checks have to be right every time.
- Office or administration experience is useful but not essential. Right to work in the UK on a full time basis is required.
