About the Role

Off to Work are currently recruiting for an experienced Event Operations Manager to lead a talented team delivering exceptional food and beverage experiences across a prestigious luxury property. From elegant corporate events to bespoke social celebrations, in-room dining and outdoor picnics, you'll ensure every guest touchpoint reflects the very best in 5-star service.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives on coaching a team, driving service excellence, and being genuinely present on the floor.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Overseeing the smooth day-to-day running of the Events Operations department, ensuring spaces are set to function sheets and client instructions
  • Maintaining meeting and event spaces to "show-round" standard at all times
  • Leading daily pre-shift briefings, allocating tasks and communicating event details to the team
  • Attending weekly function meetings and daily hotel briefings
  • Championing guest satisfaction — gathering feedback, reviewing service standards, and driving continuous improvement
  • Managing departmental stock, ordering, and cost control, keeping a close eye on payroll and P&L performance
  • Leading by example with a visible, hands-on presence across the department
  • Building genuine, personalised relationships with guests to exceed their expectations
  • Ensuring back-of-house and preparation areas are consistently clean, organised, and well maintained
  • Overseeing accurate billing and cashiering processes
  • Supporting team engagement and guest satisfaction targets
  • Fostering a collaborative culture that builds strong relationships across departments
  • Designing and delivering training and development plans to help your team grow
  • Working closely with the Events Sales Team and culinary team to keep communication seamless
  • Conducting performance reviews, setting goals, and coaching individual development
  • Partnering with the Director of Food & Beverage on rotas and shift patterns, factoring in holidays, sickness, and business levels
  • Forecasting agency staffing needs in good time
  • Flexibly supporting both Event Operations and In-Room Dining, as business needs require
What We're Looking For
  • Hotel school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in a 5-star hotel environment
  • Previous experience in a similar events or F&B operations role
  • Strong food and wine knowledge
  • Commercial and business awareness
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven leadership and team development skills
  • Strong influencing and negotiation ability
  • A natural motivator with strong problem-solving and complaint-handling skills
  • Must live outside of London or be willing to relocate to the Ascot area
