Job description
Kitchen Porter Manager, £17.72 per hour, London King's Cross, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
You already write the rota, order the chemicals and keep the deep clean records. This job gives you four kitchens and a team of twenty kitchen porters to run that way.
What is on offer
£17.72 an hour, just under £37,000 a year
Monday to Friday, no weekends, no bank holidays
Paid overtime at the same rate, around once a week
Free food on shift and brand new pot wash equipment
Funded Food Safety Level 2 and health and safety qualifications
Permanent and full time. The site is closed at weekends, so every Saturday and Sunday is yours.
The role
A contract caterer in King's Cross needs a Back of House Manager for a large corporate site. On site the job is called Head Kitchen Porter.
You run the pot wash across four kitchens with a team of fifteen to twenty kitchen porters. Two large pot wash areas and two smaller ones.
About a third of the job is off the floor. You build the weekly rota, arrange cover, order cleaning chemicals and pot wash supplies, and hold the deep clean schedules and cleaning records for all four kitchens.
The rest is with your team. You decide who works where. You train new kitchen porters on the machines, on COSHH and on kitchen hygiene. When service is busy you are on the machines too.
What we are looking for
At least a year running a kitchen porter or BOH team of ten or more.
You handle the rota, the supplier ordering and the cleaning records yourself now.
Hotel, contract catering and staff restaurant backgrounds all fit well.
Apply with a CV showing your team sizes and the admin you owned.
