- Collaborate closely with the head chef to develop menus that align with their culinary vision and standards.
- Assist in managing kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating presentations to guarantee high-quality and visually appealing dishes.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, promoting teamwork, professionalism, and adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain accurate records of food and ingredient costs.
- Assist in creating and implementing new recipes, ensuring their consistent execution and maintaining recipe documentation.
- Continuously strive to improve culinary techniques and stay updated with the latest industry trends.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or a similar role in a reputable B&I or education environment..
- Solid knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles.
- In-depth understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with the kitchen team.
- Creativity and the ability to develop innovative dishes while adhering to our culinary concept.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality dishes.
- A culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
