An exciting opportunity has opened for a Catering General Manager to lead a prestigious £1.5–£2 million contract, delivering first-class catering and hospitality services at an independent school in Huntingdon that also operates as a sought-after venue for private and corporate events.

This is a senior leadership role with full operational and strategic responsibility for a team of 30. You’ll be the driving force behind the day-to-day service, long-term development, and commercial success of this high-profile site.
  
You will lead a flagship site where hospitality meets education and commercial events and bring your leadership to a contract that demands quality, innovation, and commercial savvy.
  

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 30 to deliver all catering & hospitality services across the school and commercial events.
  • Build and maintain a strong, collaborative relationship with the client.
  • Champion innovation, bringing fresh ideas to both the education and events side of the business.
  • Manage the contract’s financial performance, operating within a £1.5–£2 million budget.
  • Monitor performance, identify trends, and take decisive action to improve service and profitability.
  • Maintain high standards for all hospitality offerings and corporate/private events.
  • Identify and develop new commercial opportunities to enhance revenue and reputation.
  
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in contract catering, ideally in education, hospitality, or multi-service environments.
  • Strong financial acumen & experience managing budgets of £1.5 M+.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting.
  • Confident communicator with strong client and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to plan, lead, and execute across a varied portfolio.
  • Passion for food, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
