Job Role: Sous Chef
Location: East Sussex

Salary: £37,000 + Paid Overtime

We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef for a leading private education site based in East Sussex . You will work in a kitchen team of 17 Chefs catering for around 2000 meals on a daily basis so experience in large sites is essential for this role.
This Sous Chef role would suit a Chef with current education experience or someone from high end restaurants at Rosette Level looking to move for a better work / life balance still whilst preparing good food as this role covers hospitality cooking formal dinners and events.
The Sous Chef will work alongside 2 other Sous Chefs and provide all food for restaurant and cafe spaces as well as events a required. Good organisational skills are required as you will often have a lot going on at the same time, You will offer Breakfast / Lunch / Supper for both daytime students and boarders
The role is working 5/7 days with around 1/3 weekends needed. Hours worked will be generally daytime hours with evenings only required for events and function's. This is a 40 hour contract and overtime is paid after 40 hours.
We are looking for a head chef who is keen on sustainability and cooking with healthy fresh produce. The site likes a lot of Plant based food options so Vegan knowledge would be helpful and as well as a passion for food. You will work closely with students on site to develop and collaborate on menus.
This Sous Chef role gives a good work / life balance as well as being supported by an Exec Chef / Head Chef and 2 other Sous Chefs you will have good strength in the kitchen with a lot of the team already being on site around 2-3 years.
