Job Role: Sous Chef 
Location: Bedford
Sector: Private Education
Salary: £24750 term time only ( 44 weeks a year)


We are looking for a Sous Chef and we are working with a leading Contract Catering company for Private Education site in Reading, this operation caters for both daily meals as well as boarders. You will also have the opportunity to help with events. You will play a vital part in making sure the students have an enjoyable dining experience. You will be aware of allergens and special dietary needs as well as health and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook nutritious, balanced meals for large groups of people
  • Ensure all meals meet dietary, religious, and medical requirements, including allergen awareness.
  • Work efficiently in a high-volume catering environment while maintaining quality.
  • Make sure the kitchen is clean and tidy
  • Follow food hygiene and safety regulations to the highest standards.
  • Assist with menu planning, incorporating variety and special dietary needs.
  • Collaborate with the catering team to ensure smooth service and a positive dining experience.
  What we are looking for
  • Proven experience as a cook in a high-volume catering kitchen
  • Strong knowledge of allergens, special diets, and food safety regulations.
  • A passion for food and creating meals that cater to diverse needs.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • You will have a positive and can-do attitude
