Monday–Friday (occasional weekends)

A leading hospitality group with a successful portfolio of high-turnover foodservice outlets and event spaces in Cambridge is seeking a General Manager. Reporting to the Operations Director, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a multi-site operation generating revenues of around £2m annually.

You will oversee operations across three sites, serving around 2,000 clients each day. The catering offer is diverse, ranging from café and deli services to dining, street food, hospitality, and event spaces.
Leading a team of 45, including several experienced Heads of Department, you will be responsible for ensuring service excellence, strong commercial performance, and operational success across the portfolio.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all catering services: daily dining, hospitality, and formal events.
  • Ensure operational excellence across both front-of-house and back-of-house.
  • Manage a multi-million-pound budget with full accountability for quality and efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with school leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support, mentor, and develop managers, fostering engagement and high performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement through innovation, cost control, and proactive management.
Candidate Profile
  • Experience in multi-site or cluster management within high-volume hospitality / contract catering (ideally in education sector).
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of managing seven-figure revenues.
  • Skilled communicator, able to influence and engage at all levels.
  • Inspiring leader with the ability to develop and motivate large teams.
  • Passionate about foodservice, with a balance of operational focus and commercial drive.
  • Organised, adaptable, and able to thrive in a high-expectation environment.
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on leadership skills.
